Vishay has newly added thick-film power resistors certified by EC-Q200 to enhance the protection performance of short transient pulses

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. It is announced that its LTO series of thick-film power resistors have added a new device certified by EC-Q200 -LTO 150H. This product has a higher pulse absorption capacity, up to 75 J/0.1 s. The Vishay Sfernice LTO 150H adopts the clamp-on TO-247 package form and can be directly installed on the heat sink. It can provide a high-power heat dissipation of 150 W at the shell temperature of +45 °C.
The recently released device adopts a unique design, which enables its energy absorption capacity to be 30% higher than that of the existing LTO series devices, thereby enhancing protection against short transient pulses. Therefore, this device operates more stably in high-pressure environments, reducing the risk of failure while enhancing the overall system reliability. The high power heat dissipation capacity of LTO 150H and the low thermal resistance of 0.87 °C/W further enhance the device's ability to provide stable performance and protect sensitive components. At the same time, it reduces the number of devices used, thereby saving circuit board space, simplifying the layout, and reducing the overall solution cost.
The operating temperature of LTO for 150H can reach +175 °C, the resistance value range is from 1 W to 2.2 kW, and the tolerance is as low as ± 2%. This device can be used as a pre-charging or discharging resistor for controllers, 48 V board grids, BMS, fuel cells, and on-board chargers for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), electric vehicles (EV), and low-speed electric vehicles. Resistors that comply with RoHS standards are designed without inductance and can be provided with a bent termination option.
Samples of LTO 150H are now available and mass production has been achieved. The order cycle is 10 weeks.
